As a gigantic fan of both college and pro football I've been saddened to see all the arrests and things over the past few years, but I gotta say that this case bothers me more than the Pacman Jones, Tank Johnson, and Chris Henry cases combined (and I don't even like dogs). It's sad to see a guy so infinitely talented throw it all away on something stupid like this (no matter his direct involvement he was at least aware of these things happening on his property and that's just as bad). I think Roger Goodell has no choice but to suspend Vick for at least a half-season, if not full or life. However, from the sound of it Vick has more problems to worry about than if he ever plays football again.

Vick 'has real legal problems'

I am gravely sorry there is no death penalty for this crime. Any team who that winds up with this scum should go broke, and I hope it happens.

Vick 'has real legal problems'

Michael Vick is a MORON. He deserves to be banned from the NFL forever...

Vick 'has real legal problems'

IF he is guilty....let him rot in jail. Having rescued several dogs used for training in dog fighting, it is cruelty beyond my understanding as a human being and I have no empathy for him. My hope if the charges are true is that he serves the rest of career in Prison and then subsists in a minimum wage job.

Vick 'has real legal problems'

If the statements held forth in the indictment are found to be true by a jury, it is my sincere hope that Mr. Vick spend every second of that six years in the worst hell-hole the legal system can find. Four CWs (cooperating witnesses)! Even if all of them balk, it seems like the Feds can easily follow the "money flow" for the whole operation, plus bets, and they seem to mostly focus on "Ookie" (MV). The one thing most noticable "in between the lines" here is, Ookie's performance in another QB-type role (as exec producer/financier for Bad Newz Kennels). Just with his jobs with the Falcons, MV or Ookie's dogs can't seem to win the big ones. The Bad News Kennels dogs track record for the big $$ matches is pathetic. Just like Vick leading the Falcons in the NFL playoffs. Funny sidenote, Google "rape stand dog fighting" for images. All search results refer to the NFL. For that matter some do both types of crimes in parallel. The point being, maybe the US Attorney should look a little deeper in Vick's (and everyone involved) past.

On a second note it looks like the NFL and team are supporting Vick even in light of these horrible findings. They are using the judicial system as a shield to cover their current inaction. A man can only be convicted 'beyond a reasonable doubt' in a criminal court. It seesm the NFL is using the same guidelines here and in fact waiting for Vick to be convicted. Nike is taking a similiar stance. For their purposes, both the NFL and Nike, that is an unacceptable stance. They have enough of the facts from the indictment to make an independent decision. As usual football and the dollar protecting football.

Vick 'has real legal problems'

I never write complaint letters but here goes....

How can the NFL continue to support Michael Vick, when 55 dogs ( or more depending on which news story)were found on his property starving, and mistreated- allegedly used for dogfighting ? In a perverse way, he has helped bring the horrific practice of dog fighting, and animal abuse in general,to light. All the dogs who have suffered and died due to dog fighting can at least be avenged by much harsher penaltys and more investigations by law enforcement - if we don't let this issue die. Of course, it's likely that law enforcement is participating and/or benfiting from this practice in some areas. If you were in his position you wouldn't want everyone automatically assuming that you were guilty. He deserves a chance to defend himself. It's funny how we put the life of an animal above that of a human being. I haven't seen any blogs on women or children that have been beated, raped, or murdered by vicious people. We care more about celebrities than anyone else and that's a shame. We have bigger problems going on in the world than Michael Vick. I am a true dog lover and I don't support any cruelty to animals but you all shouldn't be so quick to hang someone out to dry. Anyone can get enough evidence to indict someone and all you need are a couple of lying perps to corroborate a story in order to save their own hides. I love the Falcons and Vick (as I am an Atlanta native) and I'm not going to boycot them. Funny how I don't hear anyone talking about boycotting things that really matter. So before you get on the website and throw your really hateful language at another human being, just remember how you would feel if the shoe was on the other foot. I don't think you would like it at all. This country claims to have the most liberty and freedom and justice for all than anywhere else in the world yet we're the first ones to assume the worst about someone. And any company that is affiliated with Vick I will not buy any of their merchandise. The "regular people" in this county have to stand up and say WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS FROM THE RICH AND FAMOUS ANYMORE. If a black man from Buffalo New York was arrested for dogfighting He would be put in jail with out any bail because he cant afford any bail, then sentenced to jail. that is what they should of done with Vick let him spend a month in jail just awaiting trial like most of us have to do if we were ever that studpid like he is. I am sure they have a case. The NFL needs to suspend him until the outcome of the case, this is way more troubling than DUI and drug offenses. The NFL needs to put in their morality clause to all contracts that if you are suspected of being in trouble with the law (other than minor traffic violations like speeding) you are suspended until the outcome. (it could be drugs, DUI, Domestic Violence, or anything) The NFL and all other sports needs a no-nonsense policy that is strictly enforced. Give them the same treatment and they would cry like babies, because the are low life cowards.

Vick 'has real legal problems'

Terminate vick. He doesn't deserve what he's been given. He deserves to be broke and sick. He is one seriously disturbed sadistic monster.

Vick 'has real legal problems'

As a volunteer with 4th and 5th graders in a Humane Education pogram which teaches these children Respect, Responsibility, Empathy and Compassion by bringing animals into the classroom; I have seen miracles worked through animals. You hurt our children Michael; a world of children has been damaged as badly as your dogs. Children imitate what they see. This man deserves to be treated like a murderer, he should spend the rest of his life in prison. Animals give such unconditional love even when you abuse them and for him to do this to one of Gods' creatures is unforgivable. I pray there is justice for this speck of dirt.
